SEO Content Manager
We’re looking for a Content Manager to lead and scale content operations at Opt Digital, a fast-growing SEO agency.
The compensation for this role is $1,100–$1,600 USD per month, depending on experience and performance. Additional incentives are tied to client retention, referrals, and the quality of delivery.
We’re a digital marketing agency focused on helping local trades and service businesses grow through search. By 2026, our goal is to become the most trusted name in Local SEO across New Zealand and Australia — and to begin expanding into the U.S.
We work with roofers, electricians, landscapers, plumbers, fencers, and other home service providers — helping them get found on Google, generate consistent inbound leads, and scale their businesses through structured SEO, content, branding, and systemisation.
Our team currently includes SEO strategists, content writers, designers, and developers. We’ve built a clear 4-month campaign model that drives visibility and measurable growth. Now we need someone to take ownership of our content department — managing writers, ensuring content aligns with SEO strategy, and keeping delivery on track.
What the Role Entails
Managing the content team — assigning work, reviewing drafts, and maintaining high standards across all deliverables.
Campaign alignment — ensuring content supports client SEO strategies, keywords, and location targets.
Workflow management — maintaining content calendars, enforcing SOPs, and coordinating with designers/devs for publishing.
Quality control — making sure every service page, blog, and landing page is optimized and brand-aligned.
Cross-team collaboration — working directly with SEO strategists and account managers to keep campaigns consistent.
Reporting & outcomes — turning SEO metrics into plain-English insights clients understand.
Process building — helping improve SOPs, streamline delivery, and prepare the department for scale.
Skills We’re Looking For
2+ years managing a content team or department in digital marketing or SEO.
Strong grasp of SEO content — service/location pages, internal linking, topical silos, and on-page optimization.
Experience managing multiple writers and projects at once without losing attention to detail.
Excellent communication and feedback skills — you can lead team meetings and ensure content consistency.
Familiarity with tools like SEMrush, GA4, GSC, BrightLocal, and ClickUp.
Highly organized, systematic, and able to keep timelines moving.
Personable and professional — able to balance motivating the team with upholding high standards.
